The European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR / Regulation (EU) 2025/40) entered into force on 11 February 2025 and applies from 12 August 2026, repealing Directive 94/62/EC. Heavy Metals Below the Statutory Ceiling
Lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium in boxes, cartons, kraft liners, tapes, and labels remain below the combined 100 ppm limit.
02 · SUBSTANCE CONTROL
PFAS and Plasticizer Controls
Intentional PFAS addition is eliminated from food-contact packaging and paper barriers. Phthalates and bisphenols are managed in line with applicable REACH requirements.
